The South Node is a place to retreat to in times of need, but it is not the place to stay, energetically speaking. The challenges arise if we hide in our South Nodes and resist growth opportunities in order to feel safe. Like any point in our natal chart it must be honored properly, which means accepting the gift of the South Node in appropriate moderation. The South Node is a comfortable pattern that we rely on because it works so well for us, but it may also prevent us from growing spiritually. Known as Ketu, or the dragon's tail in Vedic astrology, the South Node represents both an asset and a limitation in Astrology. The North and South Nodes inform us about our predispositions, what we have to work on during our lifetime.
